Small household appliance examinations

Coffee machines, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, kettles, kitchen appliances and electrical goods.

When the service is needed

The investigation examines product condition, signs of use, component defects, conformity with stated properties, repairability and restoration costs.

What the work includes

  • analysis of documents, receipts, warranty cards, records and correspondence;
  • formulating questions for examination;
  • inspection and recording signs of faults;
  • assessing possible manufacturing, use, repair or external causes;
  • preparing a specialist opinion or materials for court.

Documents to prepare where possible

Receipt, contract, warranty card, service report, work order, photos/videos of the fault, claim, seller's reply and documents about an accident or voltage surge.

Small appliance investigations address the specific reported symptom and device condition. Safe activation, completeness and known external exposure are considered before testing.

Subject of examination

  • Household appliance and its components
  • Power, control and connection components
  • Traces of overheating, liquid, repair and mechanical impact

Sample questions for the expert

  • What is the appliance's actual condition and completeness?
  • Can the reported defect be reproduced?
  • What signs distinguish an internal defect from external exposure?
  • Which functions or assemblies could not be checked, and why?

The final questions are formulated according to the objects and circumstances of the particular task.

What to prepare

  • Model, purchase documents and instructions
  • Detailed description of symptoms and conditions
  • Components needed for testing
  • Repair records, photos and exposure history

How the examination is conducted

The inspection and functional test sequence is selected for the device. Results are linked to observed signs rather than solely to one party's explanation.

Scope and limitations

Do not switch on a damaged appliance for self-testing if it could alter the object or create danger. The scope of disassembly is defined beforehand.

What the deliverable records

Conclusions list confirmed defects, causes tested and limitations caused by missing components or unavailable conditions.

Enquiry to the expert

Describe the appliance and attach documents

Specify the model, purchase date, fault and what the seller or service centre has already done. Photos, receipts, records and claims help assess the prospects more quickly.
